Next Steps of the Elaboration Phase
Before exploring the user interface and implementation strategies, let's revisit the Unified Process. Figure 10-1 shows the process model, with the focus on the Elaboration phase.

In this chapter we focus on both the user interface and its ultimate interaction with all the layers in the application. It will be a good time to assess our architecture one more time before the coding portion begins in earnest. The following Unified Process workflows and activity sets are emphasized:
A key artifact that is finally completed in this chapter is the Software Architecture Document (SAD). Once the final architectural components are in place, we can continue with and finish our first architectural prototype. This process will culminate with the completion of Chapter 11, where we implement the non-EJB solution, and Chapter 12, where we implement the EJB solution.
