This part of the book discusses each of the topics presented at the end of the last section. I have tried to give you enough material in each topic to allow you to start using it. For each one there is:
1.an initial definition of the concept;
2.a more detailed discussion with respect to Assistive Technology Design for Intelligence Augmentation;
3.a canonical paper(s) and a discussion of the source of the concept;
4.example(s) of the concept in existing systems, with an emphasis on how its design was influenced by the concept.
Finally, in some cases I have added a conclusion to tie it all up.
The topics are grouped as in Table 1.1, into Fundamentals, Models, Technique, and Things to Avoid.
