B.0. SUMMARY

Users can find the programs HOBBIES-Academic-10-x32-Install.exe (for 32-bit Windows system; Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, WA) and the HOBBIES-Academic-10-x64-Install.exe (for 64-bit Windows system) in the CD accompanying this book. Following the procedures described in Chapter 3, users can install HOBBIES and then locate the project files listed in this appendix inside the HOBBIES installation folder. A brief description of the models used in this book is given below, which are used as demonstrations to help the user to learn HOBBIES.

B.1. LISTING OF ALL PROJECTS USED IN THE TUTORIAL

All tutorial projects are located in {HOBBIES home folder}info utorial. Here {HOBBIES home folder} is the installing folder. For example, if HOBBIES is installed in C:HOBBIES, the tutorial projects can be found in C:HOBBIESinfo utorial. Note that the detailed modeling procedures for these tutorial examples can be found from both the Help menu of HOBBIES and the Support tab of HOBBIES website (www.em-hobbies.com). A summary of all the tutorial projects can be located in Table B.1.

B.2. LISTING OF ALL PROJECTS USED IN THE EXAMPLES

Projects used in the examples are located in {HOBBIES home folder}infoexamples. Here {HOBBIES home folder} is the installing folder. For example, if HOBBIES is installed in C:HOBBIES, the projects listed in this appendix can be found at C:HOBBIESinfoexamples. Note that the detailed descriptions for the examples used in the projects are all from Chapter 8 of this book.

B.3. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

(1) Q: Why can't HOBBIES be executed in WIN7 OS?

  A: Users need to check if they have the authority to access the HOBBIES folder, and make sure they have the authority to access the disk space where the projects are saved.

(2) Q: Why can't the parallel solvers in HOBBIES be launched?

  A: To run a parallel job in HOBBIES, the user needs to set up a parallel environment and configure the message passing interface (MPI). Note that to configure the MPI correctly, the user needs an account with an administrative privilege. To execute a parallel job, the user also needs to turn off the Windows firewall.
