Byron Love has over 31 years of experience in information technology, working in positions ranging from systems administrator, to applications and database developer, to project and program manager. He retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Communications and Information Systems Officer after 21 years of service on active duty and in the Reserves, rising through the enlisted and officer ranks to become a Major. During his Air Force career, Mr. Love won many awards, including Reserve Officer of the Year for his division, and was an honor graduate of USAF NCO Leadership School and USAF Basic Computer Officer Training School.
As a civilian, Mr. Love has led projects and programs at over a dozen government organizations. Mr. Love led a successful four-year program to convert every Air Force dental clinic worldwide from film-based to digital dental processing, a historic program that impacts every Air Force member and their dependents. Mr. Love successfully performed as Senior Program Manager for the Department of State (DoS) Vanguard 2.1 contract, a 270-person, $26-million-a-year contract for managing the DoS global IT Service Center and for providing desktop support for their 29,000 desktops in the Continental US.
Mr. Love holds an MBA from Averett University, a BA in Computer Science from Thomas Edison State College, and associate degrees from Brevard Community College and the Community College of the Air Force. He holds Program Management Professional (PgMP®), Project Management Professional (PMP®), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®), CompTIA Project+, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation, and Toastmasters Competent Communicator certifications. As of January 2016, he is one of fewer than 1,500 PgMP® certified professionals worldwide, and one of very few professionals in the world with both PgMP® and CISSP® certifications.
