About the Author

Eden White is a married Australian resident, with three adult children and four grandchildren. My family live in Australia, except my youngest son, who lives in Lund, Sweden, completing his PhD.

My working career has spanned over 49 years in the medical device and capital industry, incorporating professional sales, sales management, management coaching, and 13 years running my own medical distributorship in Melbourne, Australia. During this time in the medical industry, I have spent over 25 years as a professional sales coach and mentor. In addition, I spent 11 years as a business and sales manager for two companies, working throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Over my 49-year career in sales and sales management, I have been honored with over 10 national sales awards, several world marketing awards, and many “best in sales” awards for achievement. I have qualifications in operating room technique, wound closure, and specific urology awards. I also hold several management awards and a Cert 4 in T&A 4010 for coaching and assessment.

I retired from the industry 4 years ago to begin writing my manuscript; however, the research did take longer than anticipated—over 14 months. At the end of the research, it became obvious that there were problems and concerns within the professional sales industry, with over 50 percent of research interviewees unhappy in their current positions. I documented and tabulated the findings from this research, which has formed a huge part of my book. I was surprised to find the overseas research similar and therefore resolved to help salespeople in general with a go-to resource such as this.

Currently, I am writing my second book (sales management, a license to manage), aimed at sales managers, and a third will follow for sales coaches.
