One of the reasons for Kotlin's great usability is its standard library. It is packed with numerous useful functions and constructs that can make common programming tasks easier. We covered the most commonly used ones, but since the library is an open source, you can explore it in detail and learn more about it at the official Kotlin web page.

In the next chapter, we'll put to use everything we've learned so far and use Kotlin to create a dictionary desktop app with JavaFx as our UI kit.
