Summary

In this chapter, we focused on activities we can perform by using Moodle and some web-based applications. The objective was to show how this integration can open several possibilities for teaching and learning, providing free applications where teachers and students can create their own multimedia works, and then embed them in Moodle for instruction, discussion, or assessment. We created interactive charts, floor plans, timelines, maps, and online presentations, to represent data and mind maps. We also saw the possibilities of having collaboration in the construction of these multimedia works, as most web applications have a standard option to create a collective work with others. But to achieve this, we need assessment tools to complement the ones provided by Moodle. In the next chapter, we will learn how to add multimedia to Moodle quizzes and lessons, create interactive exercises, and assess multimedia works with rubrics.
