The SQL Trace facility is built into the Oracle kernel. Once enabled, it writes information about every SQL statement executed to a trace file in the user dump directory. This trace file can then be processed by TKPROF, an Oracle-supplied utility that reads SQL Trace dump files and produces a human-readable report.
