The faster proliferation of containers, especially the Docker containers, is accelerating the widespread usage of microservices. That is, containers offer the best packaging format and runtime/execution environment for microservices. Due to the lightweight nature of containers and microservices, which are generally fine-grained, the number of containerized microservices and their instances for redundancy for an application is quite high. Even a small-scale cloud center hosts several thousands of application and data containers. Thus, the operation, observation, and management complexities are bound to escalate rapidly. As an automated solution for this predicament, there are container life cycle management solutions, such as Kubernetes, Docker swarm, and Marathon. These solutions simplify and speed up container clustering, orchestration, and management activities.
