Editing a query

To edit a query, first, you need to find the query that you want to edit. There are several ways you can do this:

  1. Find the query through the query page: Go to Queries and then you will be able to see it either in All Queries, My Queries, or in the Search menu.
  2. Find the query through a dashboard: Click on the Widget that you want to find the query for, and you will get to the query page.
  3. Direct link: A colleague might actually simply send you a direct link to the query (for example, for Redash, this is located at demo.redash.io; the query can be found at http://demo.redash.io/queries/719).
The query_id is actually part of the URL, so in case you know the query_id in advance, you can find it at https://www.your_redash.com/queries/query_id.

After you find your desired query, you can click on Edit Source to edit the query:

The Edit menu looks the same as the Create menu.

However, if the query is not created by you, you might want to fork a query instead.
