Tableau is built to work with big data, but your performance takes a hit as the size of your data increases. One of the best ways to manage the performance of your analysis is to limit the amount of data that Tableau needs to read. On the Data Source page, you can include a data source filter.

To add a data source filter, click the Add button in the Filters section of the canvas. An Edit Data Source Filters menu will appear. Click Add and select the filter you would like applied. You can add more filters or remove added filters using the same method:
