Dedication

I’d like to dedicate this work to my children, Rachel and Bud, and to their children and your children and all the generations of the future, the ones who will most benefit from our work together in creating a healthier world and a healthier economy. I also dedicate this book to you, the reader, who is helping make these new ideas in business responsibility a reality.

 --Trish Riley

This book is dedicated to my grandfather, Wendell Shepherd. When I was a child, my grandfather taught me to always think critically about what others spoke and wrote and to research in order to make my own decisions. He also taught me to respect nature and be a steward for our environment. This served as the backbone for my developing worldview and allowed me to accept a new paradigm where social and environmental issues are intertwined with profits. I would also like to echo Trish’s dedication to the reader, for without you to implement the suggestions found in these pages, sustainable business will remain a discussion topic for few instead of an answer for many.
