Angular 2

As a number of frameworks are available, it's a little confusing for a frontend developer to choose between them for front-end development. We will be using Google's ever-popular web development framework Angular for our application. This should be easy for you if have worked with Angular 2 before. You can skip a lot of development setup-related stuff if you have previous experience on Angular 2. However, no prior knowledge on Angular 2 is required to follow the example in this book. We will go through all the steps to set up an Angular application with Electron in this chapter and the following chapters too. However, Angular is not the only framework that can be used with Electron. Any front-end framework can be used to build the user interface. If you are proficient in React, Ember or Vue, you could use either with Electron.

The process of developing a desktop application with Electron and Angular is almost the same as developing for the web with the same technologies. We don't have to master any additional conventions to develop for the desktop using Electron and Angular.
