Fuchsias present beautiful color variety, including greens, reds, and purples. This exercise should be drawn on vellum-finish (rough) bristol board to enhance the irregular texture of the flowers. Use the side of an HB pencil to lightly block in the basic shapes, and build the details of the petal pattern.
Start light shading using the tip of an HB pencil, making certain to shade with the surface direction. Develop large shading areas using the side of the lead, and darken creases and lines using a sharpened 2B.
