Part Two. Working with XML in Office

  • Word

  • Excel

  • InfoPath

  • Access

  • FrontPage

In this Part we show you, in great detail, how to use the XML features of Office to accomplish real-world tasks. You’ll learn how to create XML documents with Word and format them with the Word Markup Language. You’ll also learn how to analyze XML data with Excel, store and retrieve it from Access databases, and publish it to the Web with FrontPage.

We also teach you how to design and complete forms with InfoPath, and how to use Web services with these products.

The chapters are labeled by product name and required Office skills. A Power User knows the Office products and is able to set up new things (styles, etc.) using the normal user interface. A Script Developer has, in addition, a basic knowledge of VBA, VBScript, or JScript.

However, the Script Developer chapters are written so that Power Users should be able to pick up what they need of those skills while reading and customizing the examples for their own use.
