Day 11. JavaMail

In Day 9, “Java Message Service,” and Day 10, “Message-Driven Beans,” you learned about the J2EE technologies that allow you to provide application-to-application communication. Today's lesson looks at how you can provide application-to-human communication in J2EE using email.

Today you will see how email systems work and how to use the JavaMail API to send and receive email. You will look at handling email attachments and expand on the Agency case study you have been developing, to send email messages to applicants and customers of the service.

  • Using JavaMail to create and send plain text email messages

  • Creating and sending HTML multi-media email messages
