Introduction

Tableau can empower its audience by allowing them to interact with the visualization, ask more questions, answer those questions, and maybe even pique their curiosity into what other answers the viz can offer.

In this chapter, we will add a few more interactive components to our views. Interactivity in Tableau can be achieved in many different ways. In this chapter, we focus on using filters, parameters and calculated fields to give the users of our dashboards more control over what is being shown in the charts.
