Now that we've defined our bounce settings (specifically the mailbox settings), let's test our bounce-processing by sending an e-mail to our bounce mailbox (the envelope-address) using a regular e-mail program, and then using the process bounces item on the right-hand panel in the admin page.

We should see at least one message processed, indicating that delivery to and inspection of our mailbox is working:

Note that in the preceding example, zero users were processed. This is because phpList was (quite rightly) unable to match our test message with an existing subscriber.
