Interactive Artist
1961 TO TODAY
Dayanita Singh’s photographs are known for capturing beautiful glimpses of Indian culture and life, but the unique ways she displays her work are what REALLY make her stand out. Not content with simply hanging a photo on a gallery wall, she combines her love of books and photography to create totally unique art installations that allow people to walk around, explore, and even hold her art in their hands. Called “book objects” or “pocket museums,” Singh’s art defies stuffy rules and makes viewing her photos interactive and fun.
