Chronicler of Everyday Superheroes
1974 TO TODAY
Dulce Pinzón was named by Forbes as “One of the 50 most creative Mexicans in the world.” Her iconic “The Real Story of the Superheroes” series featured several immigrant workers in New York City dressed as superheroes. Her goal was to highlight the invisible “superheroes” people encounter in everyday life. She wanted to “pay homage to these brave and determined men and women that somehow manage, without the help of any supernatural power, to withstand extreme conditions of labor in order to help their families and communities survive and prosper.” She currently lives in Brooklyn and her works can be found in museums all over the world.
Your Turn! Take a photo of someone you think is an everyday superhero and share it with them!
