Part II. Conducting the Meeting

Having planned your meeting, as discussed in Part I—defined your purpose, invited participants, set the agenda, and planned for facilitation and technology—you can now start thinking about how to facilitate the meeting, as described here in Part II. Chapter 6 covers the necessary skills for opening the meeting. The following three chapters discuss three skills to use during the meeting—verbal facilitation skills (getting them to talk) (Chapter 7), listening facilitation (mental and nonverbal) (Chapter 8), and graphic facilitation skills (recording what they say) (Chapter 9). Chapter 10 explains how to close the meeting.

The Meeting Implementation Checklist at left lists these five skills and the chapter in which each of them is covered.
