Part 3 moves past toy example applications and gives you a taste of HBase in real applications. Chapter 7 is a deep-dive into OpenTSDB, an infrastructure-monitoring application designed for efficient storage and query of time-series data. In chapter 8, you get a glimpse at using HBase for geospatial data. You’ll learn how to adapt an HBase schema for multidimensional spatial data as you implement multiple spatial queries.
