We are grateful to the National University of Singapore for its generous funding of the 2016 Quality of Life (QOL) Survey that provided the dataset for this book. We would like to thank the 1503 Singaporeans who kindly responded to this survey and shared their views on the various aspects of happiness and wellbeing. As we publish the fifth book in the continuing research on happiness and wellbeing in Singapore, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Professor Kau Ah Keng (1946–2015), former head of the Marketing Department at the National University of Singapore. He was a pioneer in the research on values and lifestyles in Singapore since the late 1980s and the lead researcher for the quality of life surveys conducted in 1996 and 2001.
