28. Creating Your Own Shopping Cart

This chapter provides a practical example of implementing a shopping cart. This chapter uses a shopping cart example because shopping carts are very common and familiar, so the concepts will be easy to pick up throughout the chapter. Also, this example allows you to look at one way to take advantage of the ability to switch between views in AngularJS as you navigate through the checkout process.

The shopping cart you will create in this chapter provides most of the necessary functionality, but it is not intended for production. It is missing validation and error handling to keep the example a reasonable length. However, you will learn the basic steps of creating a shopping cart and develop a fundamental understanding of how the Node.js, MongoDB, and AngularJS stack operates.
