About the author

Alice Muir is a Chartered Psychologist and an experienced teacher, trainer, author and life coach. She has worked as a lecturer and counsellor with the Open University, and has also run her own business for 20 years. Alice is a member of the British Psychological Society, the General Teaching Council and the Association for Coaching, and she is a Fellow of the International Stress Management Association (ISMA UK). She is also a wife and mother, with two grown-up children.

After coining the term Stress Adviser in 1994 Alice has trained hundreds of Stress Advisers all over the UK and overseas.

Alice has now published 12 books, mainly about stress and personal development, including Coping with a Stressed Nervous System, Make Your Sensitivity Work for You and Overcoming Loneliness (Sheldon Press) and, in the Hodder Education Teach Yourself series, Relaxation Techniques, Beat Stress, Persuade Anyone with NLP and Overcome Depression.

Alice is currently Features Editor on ISMA’s journal Stress News and often provides ‘expert comments’ for many articles including those in My Weekly, Psychologies, Prima, Mail on Sunday, The Herald and Essentials magazine.
