9.10. Toolbars

Another popular method for distribution of accessibility testing tools is the use of browser toolbars. There is a wide range of accessibility toolbars for both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Many of these toolbars contain links to the services mentioned previously, but also contain tools simulating disabilities.

9.10.1. Web Accessibility Toolbar

The Web Accessibility Toolbar is a toolbar for Internet Explorer that can be downloaded from http://www.visionaustralia.org.au/ais/toolbar/. It contains options to check for compliance to the many different accessibility standards, tools to simulate disabilities and tools to help resolve accessibility issues:

The Section 508 Toolbar is a free toolbar for Internet Explorer that can be downloaded from http://www.rampweb.com/Accessibility_Resources/Section508/

9.10.3. WebAIM's WAVE Toolbar

The Web AIM project has created a plugin for Firefox that contains many tools to test for accessibility. This free tool can be downloaded from http://wave.webaim.org/:
