THE DYNAMICS OF CULTURE FORMATION, EVOLUTION, AND CHANGE
In order to understand the dynamics of culture, it is necessary to recognize that these dynamics vary hugely as a function of the growth stage of a group. In this part of the book, I will first provide a general model of learning and change, and then show how that model applies to culture formation in new organizations, culture evolution as those organizations grow, subculture dynamics as the organizations with different subcultures attempt to integrate, and, finally, change and destruction of cultural elements as organizations age and become dysfunctional.
