Do's and Don'ts

Besides the foregoing general rules for effective writing, there are a number of specific rules for writing funding documents. These can be summarized as a series of do's and don'ts. Even when you are operating within the rules, and even while you are staying mindful of the audience, you retain a fair amount of compositional leeway. You can use that leeway to write persuasively and help make the case, or to write foolishly and doom the requested project.
