The MQTTBox tool provides a simulator which helps us connect to the IoT Hub and publish messages at the same time as subscribing for cloud-to-device messages.

The client settings require the connectivity configuration. Once all settings are in place, it will automatically connect with the host, which we provide in the settings.

In the topic to publish, we need to mention the path 'devices/{device name}/messages/events/{Topic Name}'. Apart from this, we can set the QoS and provide the actual data in the payload.

Using the device explorer, we read the data from IoT Hub. Instead of this, we can even write our own console application and make use of it.

Using the device explorer only, we can send the command to the MQTT client and that can be received by the tool by subscribing to the correct topics.
