,ALWAYS PUT REQUESTS IN THE FORM OF A PROPOSAL
Don’t make requests lightly and they won’t be taken lightly. Always include in any proposal (big or small) the following information:
The benefit of what you are proposing to the organization and/or to your boss
How it can be accomplished with minimum cost and little chance of something going wrong
The resources you need, and where you think they can be obtained
The potential problems, and the measures you propose to avoid those problems
How you will solve the problems if they occur
What role you foresee for yourself in this proposal
The timeline for the proposal
Follow these guidelines whether you are proposing a major project or proposing that you take a day off. Regardless of how big or how small your request, make your proposal strong.
