Match the Color of One Photo to Another Photo?

image

Open the image that has the overall color tone that you like (we’ll call this the “source image”), and then open the photo you want to match the color of your source image to (so you have both photos open). Make sure the photo that has the color you want to change is the active image window, then go under the Image menu, under Adjustments, and choose Match Color to bring up the Match Color dialog. Near the bottom of the dialog, in the Image Statistics section, choose the source image (the photo that has the right color tone) from the Source pop-up menu, and it instantly matches the tones in your active image to the tones in the source image. This does a pretty nice job most of the time, but of course it always depends on the image (for example, if you try to match the overall tone of a shot taken at night in a city with one that was taken at high noon in a forest, it’s probably not going to be a decent match). The idea here is to match images taken in a similar environment and make them all pretty much look the same, and if that’s the case, this technique will usually be spot on.
