A resource group is a logical container that functions as a unit of management. With resource groups, you can do the following:
- Manage security policies with access control
- See and manage the costs of the resources in the group
- Export and import resource groups
- Delete a resource group and all the resources it holds atomically
Whenever you create a resource in Azure, you need to create or select a resource group that the resource will be created in:
You can later inspect the resource groups you have and their content through the button in the left-hand side menu, and is shown in the following screenshot:
Alternatively, you can use the az group CLI commands to list, create, delete, and configure the resource groups in your account.
