In order to use the CLI tools, you will have to log in and authorize the use of the Firebase CLI. Run the command:

firebase login

This will take you to a browser window and authenticate with your Google account. Once you authorize Firebase CLI, you will get a confirmation popup:

And then you will get a corresponding message on the Terminal.
