  1. Click on the Web App option, and then click on the Create button.
  2. In the Web App creation blade, enter the name of your application and create or choose a resource group that the application will be created in, as shown in the screenshot below.
In the past, Azure offered a set of services that were called API App, Mobile App, and Web App. Each of them offered specific features for their target application type. At some point, Microsoft merged all these application types into a single one under the name App Service, but the old services are still available. The only difference between them now is the icon.

  1. Turn on Application Insights support, then choose your preferred operating system and the Application Insights hosting location.
  2. Click on the App Service plan/Location area to open the App Service Plan configuration blade and select an existing plan or create a new one:

  1. Click on the Pricing tier button to select the plan you wish to create. You can filter the pricing tiers shown by selecting the appropriate workload you wish to create the App Service plan for in the toolbar:

You can always change the pricing tier later, increasing or decreasing the feature levels and computing power that your application uses.
  1. After filling in and choosing all the required settings, click on the Create button and create your Azure App service web app.
  2. Once the resource deployment is complete, a notification popup will appear. Click on the Go to resource button to open your web app blade:
