Some ML developers somehow feel that it’s OK to use any accessible data to train models, perform testing, and create an analysis, no matter what its source might be. However, recent events show that developers of all stripes must now ensure that data is collected ethically, cleaned properly, and used correctly in a transparent manner. Not only will approaching the task in this manner keep lawsuits and regulatory implications at bay, but it also makes ML inherently more secure.
