Evangelos Petroutsos is a computer engineer by education, but he has spent most of his professional life developing applications and digging through databases. He has a degree in computer engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and several years of professional experience at the California Institute of Technology. He has worked as a consultant for many companies, large and small, and has taught courses on Visual Basic and databases. He especially enjoys writing and teaching. With over 25 years of experience in this industry, he makes his living by optimizing code and databases.

When he's not obsessed with a new technology, he spends time with his family and friends, reads science books, and finds excuses to visit every state in the country.
