System services are new in this iteration of Microsoft Dynamics AX, but they are spot on. In this chapter, we have demonstrated that system services are powerful, especially when they are used together.

If you use system services where possible, you're using an out-of-the-box functionality that Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 offers. This will save you the time that you would spend developing document or custom services, thereby allowing you to focus on more important tasks.

In the next chapter, we will take a break from the development side of services and focus on how to set up Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to achieve High Availability for services.
