To Father God

To my friends and fellow Filipinos
To all PWDs
Good morning! Good afternoon! Good evening! Wherever you are reading this book, I’d like first to greet you, my dear reader. Welcome to the world of 3D and welcome to the world of Blenderers.
I first searched, “What is the best 3D software for beginners?” in Google. You might already know that Blender 3D is “free.” In this book, I discuss what “free” means, and what the Blender license means.
When I started learning 3D, I only played with the 3D viewer and Paint3D applications that are in Windows 10. But those applications have limitations. I decided to research 3D software that could meet my needs on a laptop. You might think, obviously a PC is better than a laptop. Originally, I’m a web developer/designer, and because 3D has become a part of web design, I decided to study 3D concepts.
Blender 3D met my needs. It launches fast, even on my laptop. I can design the model that I want. There’s a lot of community and tutorials out there and it’s free.
This book is a tour of Blender 2.80, in which its newest render engine is rendered in real time; it’s called Eevee. They called this latest version a “game-changer” because it has a lot of changes—from the user interface to its tools, which is especially helpful to beginners and laptop users like me.
Since I called it a tour, Chapter 1 shows you the basics, like installation and features. In Chapter 2 , I discuss modeling tools. In Chapter 3 , I discuss the tools used in animation. In Chapter 4 , I discuss things related to the game engine.
I also discuss Blender 2.80 hotkeys and refraction, which is helpful for those who are interested in photorealism.
I suggest that you install Blender 2.80 before Chapter 2 . I want you experiment with every tool I mention so that you know which tools will be useful for you in the future.
So, let’s end the introduction here and proceed to our tour! Enjoy learning!
