This chapter is about understanding how cyber intelligence, security, and operations are separate disciplines. There are challenges in fusing the three, and we will start breaking down how an IT organization can integrate a cyber intel team into their operations. We will introduce the concept of operational security (OPSEC), and discuss how the concepts of OPSEC can be used as a strategic framework. Following this, we will start to understand the levels of leadership, how they would map to an intel capability team, and the levels of a strategic Capability Maturity Model in order to develop a cyber intelligence program.
