User Communication Plan

The user communication plan (see Chapter 5) contains the plan for communicating effectively between the governance team and the end users.

    • To monitor the communication events completed.
    • To gain feedback on communication events.
    • To improve communication processes.
  • Guiding Principles
    • These are the high-level framing decisions that describe the communication strategy to be used.
  • Communication Strategies and Methods
    • Details the general responsibilities for carrying out the communication plan.
    • Describes the role of the governance team in crafting the messages to be delivered.
    • Describes the preferred communication channels to be used for delivering the message.
  • Communication Stakeholders
    • Identifies each stakeholder by name, department, and role.
    • Describes the information needs of each stakeholder.
    • Identifies each stakeholder's preferred method of communication.
  • Implementation Plan
    • Includes a high-level schedule of milestones to be achieved in implementing the plan.
    • Details the budget, material, and personnel resources available for carrying out the communication plan.
    • Describes the various tools used to create and deliver the messages to be conveyed.
  • Communication Events (Action Plan)
    • Identifies each type of communication that needs to occur.
    • Details a specific set of goals and techniques to be used.
    • See “Communication Events” below.
  • Evaluation Criteria
    • Describes measurable criteria used to determine the progress and effectiveness of the plan after implementation.
