In this hour, you take a look at some of the basic components of the underlying technology in an SAP system. Referred to by seasoned SAP technical veterans as “SAP Basis,” the SAP technical foundation has expanded over the years to include a host of components that today make up SAP’s Web Application Server, or WebAS. As such, this is a rather technical hour of instruction geared not toward the normal day-to-day end users of an SAP system but rather those tasked with installing and technically maintaining SAP. This hour will help you understand some of SAP’s basic technical concepts in terms of how your SAP system operates and communicates.
Highlights of this hour include
Learning about the different types of SAP work processes
Understanding the concept of Enqueue processing
Reviewing architecture and basic communications protocols
