  • Peer-to-Peer (P2P) A system for establishing direct connections between Internet users for purposes of sharing files.

  • Resource Description Framework (RDP)— A semantic web framework.

  • Semantic web A set of technologies designed to provide information on the meaning of web data.

  • Social networking site One of several services that supports blogging, messaging, and other activities from a personal website.

  • Web 2.0 A collection of tools that reflect a new vision of the interactive Web.

  • Wiki A form of easily edited, interactive website designed to support collaboration.

  • WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) A form of editing tool that displays a page as it will appear to the user.

  • XHTML An expression of HTML through XML schema.

  • XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol) An open source messaging protocol used with Jabber messaging technology.
