About the Author

Nate Regier, PhD, is a founding owner and the CEO of Next Element, a global leadership training firm dedicated to bringing more compassion to every workplace. He is an international speaker, trainer, coach, and advisor. Nate is a Process Communication Model Certifying Master Trainer and Next Element is a PCM distributor for the United States.

Nate is a guest on multiple podcasts and writes for many publications, including Chief Learning Officer, Training Magazine, Fast Company, HR.com, Forbes, and Association for Talent Development (ATD). He has published two other books: Beyond Drama: Transcending Energy Vampires, and Conflict Without Casualties: A Field Guide for Leading with Compassionate Accountability. Nate is codeveloper of Next Element’s Leading Out of Drama® and The Compassion Mindset® training and coaching systems.

Nate was born and currently lives in Kansas. He grew up in Zaire and Botswana as the son of missionary parents during the 1970s and ’80s. Before founding Next Element, he spent 11 years working as a clinical psychologist after completing his doctorate at the University of Kansas.

Nate is married to Julie and has three daughters. Their family enjoys cooking together and spending time at the lake or in the mountains whenever possible. He is an avid BBQer, and competes with his team, who call themselves Three Men and a Butt. Check it out at threemenandabutt.com.
