Some red flags

Now that I have persuaded you to look upon an invitation to speak as an opportunity and to accept it enthusiastically, I want to hedge a bit and say that there may be some speaking invitations you should refuse. Well, perhaps "refuse" is too strong. Let's just say that certain situations ought to raise red flags.
