We have done a great deal of work so far, now it's time to compile and run the app. Compile and run the application using the Android emulator based on the procedure we used in the previous chapters.

You will probably be disappointed to see an empty screen after all that work. Obviously, the issue is that we do not have any data to display, and we have not yet created the features that allow us to create new data. Bummer!

The next section discusses how to use the Android Device Monitor to push files to an emulator or device so that we can see some data in our app. Leave the app running in the emulator and go through the next section.
