We applaud your commitment to reading a whole book on mentoring women. Clearly you have the right stuff to take on the “that guy” mantle in the workplace. Be comfortable in your own skin. Recognize and own the biology and psychology of your male architecture. Work to better understand and appreciate the women around you. Accept that your own maleness can at times facilitate or impede effective mentorships. Be an intentional and deliberate mentor for women. Remain vigilant for those everyday Athenas; push them forward and watch them soar.

Mentoring women well is what good men do. Take the elements in this book to heart, practice them daily, in the crucible of your own workplace and in full view of your colleagues. Stay out front and mentor women without being asked. Do these things and you’ll contribute to your organization’s bottom line, you’ll bolster the career success and the spirit of the women you mentor, and for all of this, you’ll be a better man.
