Summary

In this chapter, we've covered nearly all aspects of editing with ArcGIS Runtime. We discussed the differences between editing online and offline, and how, by combining both, to create a seamless editing experience for users as they go from a connected to a disconnected setting. We've also discussed how to set up a Runtime geodatabase for editing from a feature service too. Then, we covered how to create a feature layer from a feature service or from a Runtime geodatabase. After we got access to a feature layer, we discussed the Editor object and its significance in the editing process, along with its configuration. Once everything is set up, we covered the editing operations: adding, selecting, updating, deleting, and committing our edits. Lastly, we discussed how attachments are created, and then edited, so that we can provide our users with an interesting mapping experience.

Now that we've covered most of the basics of using ArcGIS Runtime, we will turn our attention to what makes GIS awesome: spatial analysis.
