Summary

In this chapter, for the first time in this book, we went over the details of reactive programming, using the Spring WebFlux framework. We started off by giving adequate details on the framework itself at a high level. We went over a very basic example, and then, introduced you to Spring Security and its functionality with Spring WebFlux.

Finally, we went through a hands-on coding session, with a sample application. In this example, we covered other reactive aspects, such as Spring Data Mongo, so as to give you more insight into the reactive world.

We ended the chapter with some of the customization possible in Spring WebFlux with Spring Security.

Having read this chapter, you should have a clear idea of the differences between the Spring MVC and Spring WebFlux frameworks. You should also have a good understanding of the workings of Spring WebFlux security using the Spring Security module. The examples are meant to be simple in nature and as we are undressing Spring Security in this book, those aspects are given more value in the explanations.
