PART III

Implementing Transactions

In Part II, Transaction Methods, we explained the components of the Transaction Pattern, including a detailed look at the tasks that are performed in each phase of the pattern. We also recommended a framework for conducting requirements workshops and documenting requirements.

In Part III, Implementing Transactions, we offer guidance on the steps that you should take when implementing the Transaction Pattern and the associated techniques we have outlined in Parts I and II. We work through a case study to illustrate how these techniques are applied in real situations. Finally, we discuss the benefits that could flow from using these techniques. We look at the immediate benefits of using each of the techniques, as well as the medium- and longer-term strategic benefits that can be achieved by using all the techniques in a coordinated program.
