To set up the privilege views in Jenkins, follow these steps:
- Under Manage Jenkins, select Configure Global Security.
- Under the Authorization type Matrix based Security, update the developer's permissions to include reading views and jobs, as depicted in the following screenshot:
The middle row is the developer, with only Job read, View read, and the Overall Read permissions, which we set up earlier. This one won't change. To understand the permissions better, read through the following link: https://jenkins.io/doc/book/managing/security/.
- Click Apply, then Save.
- On logging back in as the developer, we will now be able to access jobs and views. Note that we can only Read them.
